Damage rolls offer literally nothing to the competitive meta or the casual game. 90% of casual players don't even know damage rolls exist, so it's not even comparable to freeze RNG or parahax. The appeal of RNG is that it adds a layer of excitement and surprise into a game. But if most casuals don't even know it exists, what's the point? For competitive players, it's just another layer of shit RNG to account for. You can do all the studying in the world on each Pokemon's stats and do the damage calculations in your head, and none of it fucking matters when you get assfucked by damage roll RNG. It punishes you for being a good player.
