>>56704589if they really are doing island hopping for the next generation, and it is something like the Galapagos, we absolutely are going to get some crazy evolutionary bullshit. New regional forms, regional fakes, split evolutions... the whole nine yards. I think the obvious next direction for the Pokémon themselves is to create an even richer branching evolutionary tree for everybody, they've been working toward that for the last few gens, and doing some sort of island hopping gimmick is the perfect excuse to do it. Some ideas:
>another Oricorio style Pokémon that has different forms based on the island is almost a guarantee >the return of some Alolan Forms but with something "extra" like an alternate Alolan Exeggutor that has flowers or some shit>starters with branching evolutions, which has been a long time coming >legendaries that have nothing to do with the folklore or mythology of the region's real world equivalent, but nonetheless they have something to do with the actual gameplay gimmick. I'm guessing NO new battle mechanics but something to do with exploration, so maybe Sea vs Sky?>some sort of new traveling Pokemon again, this time with the ability to actually traverse the ocean or soar the skies>another Kanto Pokemon getting a convergent>a new evolution for the final few two stage Kanto lines and maybe another couple Johto or even Hoenn/Sinnoh/Unova lines get revisited. my money is on Golduck for sure, but not sure beyond that>if it's really the Galapagos, we're definitely getting a tortoise and a huge desert themed island. I'd also love Marine iguanas, a warm water seal or penguin line, and those vampire finches. >if it's Greece, expect like one or two "mythology" lines and the rest to just be random other shit vaguely relevant to the Mediterranean like goats and grapesThat's what I've got for now
