I like Kanto and I like SM but there is a lot that can be done to improve SM and make me want to play it again. FRLG is flawed but I don't need a reason to play it. The things a remake would "fix" are the reasons why I like it.

Nothing against FRLG, but I think remakes should only come at the end of the gen. Being forced to play in an old region for one year is a bit ridiculous. This is gen 3, we're supposed to play on Hoenn, not Kanto AGAIN.

Both graphics and soundtracks of these games may be subjective but one can't deny that RB are simply archaic games.

It's been years since I played Red but I can clearly remember how stupid some Pokemon's movepools were or how grindy the game was (addition of Sevii Islands and Vs Seeker was a good solution in that regard).

Apart from unique mechanics, connectivity to Stadium and abovementioned subjective things 1st gen doesn't have much going for it imo.

Gamefreak tends to butcher tracks the more times they remix them.

Daily reminder HGSS's soundtrack was shit and the games music was only decent when you got the gb player.
