For Gen 8, GF decides to remake the entire Kanto experience. You get the same starters along with a Pikachu and Eevee start, the city names are the same, and the overall map layout is the same, with some added stuff like the Islands. Other region pokemon are intermingled in the region. You get to pop over to Johto as well, so you get a 16 gym experience, the main story is thwarting Giovanni and his Mewtwo experiments across the continent, and it culminates with the Elite Four who are in the 80s and 90s in terms of levels. The final boss is Blue, who has a Level 100 starter. It's got all the new-age shit like Megas, Z moves, a partner pokemon system, and a bunch of other stuff (and some features removed) but most of the quality of life adjustments you've been begging for. You can also dress up your avatar. All of it in the glorious """HD""" of the Nintendo Switch.
They call it some shit like Pokemon Azure and Crimson. How mad are you?
