i know none of you twitter faggots actually played the game you cry about so here's a legitimate analysis
pros:
>qol features are easily the best in the series. they shouldnt take any steps back from here. its nigh perfect and balances actual gameplay with reward
>letting you select pokemon from the box anywhere in the game and in any selection dialogue is great
>y-comm is actually better than PSS overall
>pokemon models and some animations look pretty great in battle
>overworld pokemon is great and needs to stay
>battle system is perfection and doesnt need changes
>dynamax sucks ass in fanfic meta but its easily better than megas and z moves in the actual game
>dynamax adventures are fantastic and raid battles in general are a great co-op mode that should be a series staple now
>a few later routes are actually fairly nice
>outside of the gym leader theme, music is pretty good
>difficulty curve is actually fairly decent relative to previous games. Gym leaders actually have decent pokemon and movesets. wild pokemon are close to your level
>the smaller towns/areas look very nice (ie. caves, fairy town, indoors)
>having seasonal rotations for online battles is good
>a shitton of pokemon variety
cons:
>Y-comm should let you browse through all your switch friends at any time
>camera in battle needs to be more dynamic
>overworld exploration should be the same as it is in the wild area everywhere else, instead of the weird halfstep between 2d birdseye and 3d (i imagine this is because kids suck at camera movement)
>main campaign feels really short
>rival/NPCs stop you every single route which is really annoying
>early routes are awful
>no actual caves/dungeons
>the plot is pretty terrible and leaves zero impact
>lighting feels like its all prerendered
>graphics in general are weak outside of battle
>not all pokemon can exist in it
overall its a solid but flawed game
