With Haltmann, it's just some generic shit about "oh boo hoo my daughter died feel bad for me" and they act like it's some surprise that Haltmann and Susie are related. Then Nova's there, for absolutely no reason beyond " 'MEMBER KIRBY SUPER STAR?".You could say the same about Sectonia. Sectonia is tied to the Amazing Mirror while Haltmann is tied to Nova. Both are references to already existing games.
I mean, it'd take, 'My daughter is dead boo hoo,' over, 'muh puppet master betrays the puppet when they fail.'
Triple Deluxe also had Pyribbit, which was Fatty Puffer in 3D. You can't really say anything for PIX, and it's obvious that D3 and Mecha Knight are supposed to mirror their normal fights.
Also Haltmann and Star Dream's battle was the shit. Sectonia's Soul was just a vomit of moves from previous bosses.
