That is up until the villain plot kicked in. I hate the plotline of USUM compared to SM. It just takes all the intrigue out of Lusamine's character and while Necrozma is fun to fight, it's nowhere near the emotional level of the climax fight in S/M.
That said, yeah, Gen 7 was really good and I don't get people complaining about it. It's by far the generation I remember the most and I even replayed the other gens recently as prep for S/S.
