>>55624518I actually thought about this shit a lot, but I basically just have different moves stemming off more basic moves like Gust and Peck. What differentiates moves like Peck from Pluck is how much energy is put into the attack, or it varies greatly on usage.
And with something like Razor Leaf you can just have a character strike a single target, or unleash a flurry of leaves to strike multiple targets. I figure that a lot of what a move is capable of and the way it's used ultimately just boils down to a species' biology and an individual's tactics - most Grass-types can use Razor Leaf, but a Rowlet can use Razor Leaf differently from a Tropius.
I also just like to pull ideas from Unite and Pokken since those feel much more natural than what the mainline and PMD games depict about Pokémon battles.
