I'm a gen 1 and 6 lover first and foremost. Both have the best dexes, and as such automatically win, since Pokemon is very much so a game about throwing together a team of 6 pokemon you like and raising them.
After the shitshow that was gen 5, gen 6 seemed like divine intervention fixing a very bad mistake.

Gen 5 is cartoony and overly childish in its designs.
Realistic looking designs like Volcarona are few and far between, and as such the dex as a whole is garbage.
