There are little moments of Serena shining throughout the arc, with Serena absolutely believing in Ash/scolding when he becomes neglectful, consoling Mairin, or partaking in a battle against Flare, especially the final episodes when it becomes obvious that she has to leave.
I would say watch the episodes where Ash battles Gym Leaders/Diantha/Alan/Shota and Ash-Greninja too, since Serena gets super worried about Ash especially when he starts synchronizing with Ash-Greninja since he often fainted/get hurt during those episodes.
Ghost episodes are fun too because she gets super scared more than anyone.
