Got into it in 96 when Pokemania took off. But I could only watch the anime and watch my friends play. A year later my mother got me the see through people GBC with a copy of Red. Was obsessed with Pokemon through Gen 3 until I fell off of it until Gen 6. Got a copy of Pokemon Alpha Sapphire to kill time while out on deployment. Was just casual enough into it to enjoy it for a simple jrpg. Later picked up Ultra Moon and started to look into how these games really work. Not really competitive but I at least understand how the games probably should be played now.
