Of course you should always try and talk about theses things with your SO, communication is important. You should at least be comfortable talking about your insecurities with your boyfriend, if not then I can tell you already that it won't work.
Never feel trapped by a relationship that you can't make work, that's unhealthy. Incredibly unhealthy. And it'll only get worse the longer it goes, I've seen it first hand.
Have a sit down and try to talk it out, see where it goes from there.
Seriously though, I shouldn't get involved in your affairs, but this hits kinda close to home.
