I was his last opponent, apparently. No other trainer would dare challenge him due to his frightening reputation.
With my first Pokémon, I defeated three of his. The look of utter defeat and devastation upon his face is one that I have come to know quite well from my opponents… I would not be surprised if the case was the same for him.
But slowly, the tide of the battle began to change. Were his Pokémon becoming stronger? Was his brain warming from the cold? Was I getting older? To this day, I have no clue as to what happened.
