Do Anons like Weather? or is it just a cheap gimmick that should die? do Anons like moves that are affected by Weather? I think it's a cool concept that could be fleshed out more, and given more depth. What we have now is pretty neat but I'd love some more.
Some minor gee wiz information
>Thunder & Hurricane bypass accuracy check in Rain. Alternatively have 50% accuracy when used in the Sun.
>Blizzard bypasses accuracy check in Hail.
>Solar Beam & Blade are instantly charged in Sun and growth boosts stats by 2 instead of 1.5. Alternatively Solar Beam & Blade's power is cut in half if used in the Rain, Hail, or Sandstorm (and fog)
>A glitch in gen 4 caused Thunder & Blizzard (and other moves) to potentially hit through protect if used in their respective weather conditions.
What are some other moves that could/should be affected? What are some abilities you would want to see created to benefit Pokemon? Here are some of my ideas.
Move changes
>Muddy Water bypasses accuracy check in Rain, but i's accuracy is halved if used in the sun.
>Heat Wave bypasses accuracy check in Sun, but its accuracy is halved if used in the rain.
>Rock Slide bypasses accuracy check in Sandstorm. (can't think of a drawback for it in another weather condition)
New Abilities
>Fire type ability that boosts speed in the Sun. Basically Chlorophyll but not exclusive to grass types.
>Ice type ability that boosts power in Hail. Similar to Sand Force.
New mechanic
>Ice types now receive a 1.5 boost to their defense stat (similar to rock types and sandstorm)
>Teams that are under the "Aurora Veil" condition are immune to Hail Damage (so you don't have to worry about non-Ices on your team taking Hail damage)
What are your guys' ideas? Do you think we could have any new kinds of weather conditions? maybe an "Acid Rain" for Poison types and a supernatural fog for Ghost and Dark types?
