Let's talk about something. I come here to bring what is quite possibly the worst bit of inequity in the pokemon world out there to date.
Of course, I am here today to talk about the Poison/Steel paradigm. Far too long has this persisted. To really delve into what I am talking about let's look at other type matchings.
Psychic and Dark have an interesting relationship. Dark is immune to Psychic unless the move Miracle Eye is used. Then damage can at least occur. Considering that dark is SE to Psychic is the a way of evening things out.
Smack Down, while a Rock type, removes the immunity to Ground attacks for Flying types. Again, Flying is SE to Ground so this attempts to even it out.
Foresight and Odor Sleuth remove the Normal and Fighting immunities that Ghost has. Ghost is SE against neither, but arguably has more options at its disposal. This is yet another attempt to even things out.
That brings us to Poison and Steel. No move exists to remove the immunity. It's clearly one-way. The reason why Poison doesn't see much in play is the STAB moves are effectively negated by a Steel typing.
Foresight has been around since Gen II
Odor Sleuth has been around since Gen III
Miracle Eye and Smack Down both came out in Gen V
Can we hope for a move to help out Poison Types in Gen VII?
