Never played X before, decided to try it out with a Hardcore Nuzlocke on my first go. Also my first Hardcore Nuzlock. I had heard X and Y were super easy to run, so I decided "why not try both at the same time?"
At first I was cruising. Viola was a breeze: Busch used Rollout to make it too easy. All the rival battles have been trivial. I even started battling unnecessary Trainers in every route, something I never do.
Jesus Christ did I learn my lesson. Those two psychopaths with their matching dogs- hiding in the tall grass, waiting for some poor kid to stroll by, just to ruin their day- changed everything.
I decided to skip by them at first and go for an encounter, thinking I could gain some quick exp in the double battle. "Probably a Plusle and Minun again," I thought. If I hadn't caught Pabst, that was definitely a wipe. He just sat there hitting baby Fury Cutters while half his new friends were just demolished. That Super Potion was gut-wrenching.
Then it got worse. I learned my lesson, decided to not battle Trainers anymore unless I had to. And with every. single. step. in that tall grass I had a random encounter. I've spent a measly 20 minutes in Kalos Route 6, and it is now my least favorite route of all time.
Just finished the mansion stuff. Super excited to see how much worse it can get!
>>53700595Goofiest strat I've seen in a while. Glad it worked lmao
>>53701999Sorry, it's in the Battle Resort, after the E4. As for the Eevee, I always go Umbreon, but that's because I'm cancerous and play with Toxic/Protect/Moonlight shenanigans.
