>>54617763>>54617792>It's fundamentally flawed>in this game you still can't train your Pokémon by using it in battle>pic relatedThe game was always built with the focus of walking in mind. That's the reason why everything feels so monotonous; everything is designed around the limitation of walking.
>Walk for what?Walk for wild Pokémon, walk for Pokéstops and gyms, walk for buddy candy and mega energy, walk for eggs, for raid battles, for incense encounters, etc. John Hanke has stated multiple times that he invested in making AR games because he cared about people from the modern generation going outside again and interacting with other people, and he thought the best way to do it was through video games. The main reason things like incubators, raid passes, incense, lures, even access to basic items like Pokéballs and revives are only easy to obtain through the store is because you are exchanging money for the ability to not have to walk as much to acquire certain resources (at least in Niantic's eyes). Hell, why do you think they tried to tack on a walking requirement for GBL, something that has nothing to do with walking?
>most of features are in for an overhaul, if not the entire game. While I do think lots of stuff about the should be cleaned up, I doubt whatever changes Niantic could make will make those features any less annoying to work with, because of everything I've just said.
