It's decent enough. The thing is a lot of people write it off right away because it doesn't have a lot of the stuff traditional fighting games have, like long combos, complicated commands, or a strong mixup game, but it's still fun enough.
The problem is that the game is slow, characters don't have enough options for the fights to be interesting after the first few hundred, the characters and supports are unbalanced, the Naruto mode is dull and devoid of any real close up skill based mixups that might make it fun, the battle phase is good but ends too quickly, etc.
But EMPOLEON is in the game and that's my #1 favorite Pokemon of all time so i still play it
