Most of the design is simple and obvious, but the element that shows Nishida, Leafeon's designer, put care into it is that the head is shaped like a flower bulb. I like that it's a leaf-covered cat-fox; it's a combination of some of my favorite parts of nature. It's a quintessential Grass type monster, and that's what it's supposed to be. I like the beta Leafeon too. You can see how the official Leafeon is its successor: leafy ears and tail; tree roots for paws that presumably would have been brown; and leaves on the forehead.
