>>54079657That's kind of the sense I got from my osmosis of Journeys through social media. I was only briefly drawn in by Twilight Wings at the time, so I just came to the (probably unoriginal) conclusion that Journeys was supposed to be the anime that shilled Pokemon Masters/Pokemon Go[h] rather than Swoosh. I feel bad for the Galar fans, though, since the Swoosh cast and Pokemon were really endearing to me, even if the plot ended up being dumb. On the bright side, they can at least claim Twilight Wings.
Sort of a tangent, but when watching Battle Frontier, it was bizarre how little the anime actually did to shill Kanto/FRLG. Especially since the one thing Pokemon's known for these days on the games' side is Kanto/Charizard pandering. There's plenty of opportunity too. At one point, they were south of Lavender Town, and that's a place that Shudo did pretty much nothing with. At least one of May's Contests was in Saffron City, and, you know, there's a very popular Kanto Gym Leader that lives there and didn't show up.
