>XY did it more consistently, and showed off different dynamics between the Pokemon that weren't Ash's (The love/buddy quadrilateral with Clemont's Bunnelby and Chespin, Serena's Pancham and Eevee being a huge one).That's something I liked about XY. It gave a good amount of focus on pokemon on their own, but I liked the few bits in episodes where they switch up the trainers like the one where Bonnie and Meowth got stuck together and the pokemon were shuffled between the group.
