Idk what is coming next but I don’t think it’s going to assuredly be a gen 5 remake or legends kyurem. I only say this because as stupid as GF is, they haven’t ever followed a pattern across generations since maybe gen 2 with crystal after GS if you compare that to yellow after RG/B.
Gen 6 gave us ORAS, Gen 7 gave USUM, not DP remakes, and then let’s go. Gen 8 gave us dlc than an outsourced BDSP and legends.
Also considering the reaction to BDSP and recent talks over reevaluating yearly releases, I think that now more than ever we can’t predict what comes next. Before legends got announced, people argued between a second year of SWSH dlc or straight to Gen 9. Though I will say that prior to the announcement of BDSP/legends, once the SwSh dlc came out, gen 4 had the smaller percentage present of any generation in SWSH and if the dlc datamine about SV is correct, gen 5 will be missing the most pokemon.
I’m not really banking on any option but I expect something unexpected. Maybe they’ll do a dlc IN unova, or a BW3? Both sound retarded to me but I’d expect something like that over the same type of games as last gen.
