I have my Gardevoir I saved from being a shadow pokemon many years ago. I've brought her along with me to new adventures for many years, trying to decorate her with as many ribbons as I wanted. Seeing her turn into her mega form for the first time was great, she probably hadn't felt such a huge burst of power since Gale of Darkness. Her nature (Hasty) may not be the best for competitive battling but she's done just fine in battle facilities. She's still vacationing in Alola though along with everyone else since I'm not comfortable bringing any of my pokemon to the new generation.
I also have my shiny Gardevoir I got in Omega Ruby along with her shiny big brother Gallade. She's about as good as it gets for competitive with her Modest nature, although her brother not so much since he's Modest too. Despite that I still bring the two of them into online battles and battle tower variants and I love them both equally.
