I mean, there's really nothing to look forward to in the games itself since everything will be leaked in a few days anyway. It's the same core game that has been around for over a decade, so you're not missing much at all if you decide to skip playing it.
I think watching a Let's Play would be more enjoyable (and cheaper, of course) than playing through the game itself. The gameplay in Pokemon feels more like a chore than actual entertainment anyway. The way the game is setting itself up to be riddled with future DLC, along with the lack of post-game content is also worrying.
It feels like my previous hype is draining away with every minute we get closer to release.
