Then for whatever reason they stopped having the previous Pokegirl come back, until I guess the Alola trio returned in Journeys. Either way, that type of interaction was the only thing I was really hoping for or even expecting in this situation.
I guess they just started bringing people back to shill the games after a point. They brought Misty and Brock back to shill LGPE during Gen 7, similar to Dawn's presence throughout Journeys. They could've done the same for HGSS in DP, but I guess they chose to have Lyra instead. Also a shame that May's VA was already ill by the time X&Y was coming around,. Having her interact with Serena would've been neat because their arcs are similar and also pic related.
