>>51066875Except for the fact that people are picking pokemon like lugia or Virizon over it. It's also why I stress the
rule34.xxx poll because they used explicit material where it's drawn in a pretty inoffensive and vanilla manner yet 52% of people chose to pass and instead picked Goodra and Lugia over it and the fact that it's almost tied with Pikachu says a lot here. Which I agree with you that context matters here because even when Gothielle is drawn to look like a purple human with a weird hairdo people still passed it up, and at a higher rate than PokeSmash, because, and again this is my pet theory, it's a Pokémon and Pokémon don't represent humans or even human-like entities in context so instead of helping it ends up hurting here. It's maybe why furries don't end up lusting after primates, especially other great apes, for maybe being too human-like without being human.
My point here is that when it comes to Pokémon people don't actually give a fuck how humanoid it is, it's all moral posturing but the data shows otherwise. I think it really only matters to just being bipedal, being cute is a lot more important. Hence why Lopunny is only 2-3% away from Gardevoir, there's more humanoid Pokémon but it doesn't matter in a Pokémon context. Hatterene for example has a 17% gap from Gardevoir which is even bigger than the gap between Gardevoir and Delphox. Even the series acknowledges this with scenes like this in the anime, notice that Glaceon is there they could've added Medicham for a Team Charm reference but went with an eeveelution like Glaceon instead pretty much showing their intent to make a nod towards pokephiles. And the rise of the Vaporeon copypasta has made Vaporeon pretty much take the role of Glaceon here even when the numbers show it should really be braixen/delphox but that's based off public perception.
