>>41528508Isn't it kind of a contradiction to say that normies don't play every game yet also say they're so attached to the brand that they'll buy the games regardless of their quality? Like, if the normies are the ones making GF all the money, they have to be buying the games consistently. I mean, I get that there's the funny maymay where everyone but you is incapable of thinking or feeling, but it's a contradiction to say that normies don't care but also care so much that they'll buy whatever GF makes. I don't really care if you don't like Pokemon anymore(I'm on the fence), but you should do it for reasoning that isn't shit. Pokemon is popular because people care about it, they just prioritize things differently than you.
It's not just mindlessly buying anything with those yellow and blue letters on it, they are being sold the products that they want and aren't being shown better alternatives. SMT isn't really like Pokemon and is also barely an active series. DQM isn't really a thing in the West. And Digimon had the misfortune of becoming knockoff Pokemon in the public consciousness. So to most people, Pokemon is unique, even if it's getting stale. Most normies will acknowledge that these aren't the best Pokemon games(because they've probably been playing for as long as you). There just isn't anything else that's comparable. Pokemon has a massive hold on the monster taming genre, and very little of that has to do with the games. Instead, it's the result of capitalism. It becomes harder for other monster taming games to succeed because of Pokemon's hold, which gets tighter because there are fewer monster taming games. And we're left with the result: games that everyone knows are becoming staler, but no one has comparable alternatives to. You are not as different from normies as you want to think you are. We're all subject to a shit system that lets GF make shit games.
