https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v0xu4J64qYURandom little aside, I really associate this cover of 1-2-3 as an Altoshipping song. Through all the cheery talk of adventure and friendship, there's a melancholic undertone in the middle about growing up and pushing past sad memories to have a happier future.
>Let's go! We got to wait till after the rain!>Let's go! We can't see rainbows on sunny days!>I've learned that since that day when I met *you*. The implication being that the highlights of life (the rainbow) necessarily have the difficulties (the rain) to contrast them. So with that, you can paint a clear link to this being a lesson Latias learns after meeting Ash. That despite the pain of losing her brother on that day, there's still beautiful days (together) to come.
And from there, we just get a ton of lines that really tickle my personal Altoshipping headcanons.
>Hey there you, hey there you! I finally see the truth>Are you no longer, a kid anymore?A double meaning from, from both perspectives. On the one hand, it's Latias meeting the boy she became so enamored with, years later, after he's matured into more a hero than the total goofball he once was. On the other hand, It's Ash meeting the girl who's changed a lot herself, maturing into the guardian of her city that her brother once was. They were both once kids who had a spark, and now they're older, they've changed, is that spark still there?
>I left everything I had in that right pocket,>In those dusty, worn out clothes.Last bit, this is basically touching exactly on my headcanon for what reminds Ash to go see Latias again. When he cleans out his closet of his old clothes, and find the drawing from the end of the film in his old OS jacket pocket.
Anyways, that was a little bit of rambling about songs and Altoshipping. Do any of you guys have songs that makes you think of this ship?
