Any of you ever had a npc fight that you just couldn't get through? In my last Sapphire playthrough I couldn't get last Watson in any way at all. My team was all at levels 16~18 and none of them could hit his metal pokemon for neutral damage (well, except Wingul's Water Gun, but that did pitiful damage and Wingul is 4x weak to electric...). I raised everyone to level 18 but that still wasn't enough, so I got a level 10 Makuhita I had on my PC and tried to put his pokemon to sleep and then Arm Trust with Maluhita, but that still didn't do it. Then I raised Mahukita to level 18 but somehow still couldn't beat him, so I got everyone to level 20 (which was really annoying). Then Vigoroth and Makuhita were enough to beat him.
My team was Grovyle, Wingul, Gulpin, Raltz, Mightyena and Slakoth (I'm just catching and using whatever pokemon looks cool, and I had just replaced my Beautifly with Gulpin). Now it's the same, except Kirlia instead of Raltz and Makuhita instead of Mightyena.
