If he continues on to another season (unlikely to me) after beating Leon (even if he doesn't beat Leon he'll still be the second best trainer on the planet.) then he'd have no real excuse to not be the guiding hand and leader of any group. It's understandable that he didn't grow after the SM league since it wasn't a real league, but there's no escaping the maturity that comes with being the best, right?
