They all were equally useless here. Ash and Lillie were the only ones who actually did anything impactful and worth a damn and even then, only Ash was strong enough to take out Lusamine. Without him, they would've ALL been fucked.
The Alola cast is pretty much useless outside of Kukui. Ash is just fine on his own.
