When Ash was about to fight Leon Dawn should have organized all of Ash’s female companions into a full cheerleading squad as he was walking into the stadium. Of course Gary should see this and remember how he left Palette town with a full squad of girls cheering him while he was a loser wearing his pajamas and got up too late to get a proper starter.
Would have been a nice sendoff for most of the girls especially Dawn...and Gary.
