Starmie was only hard if you were a mong who kept in Charmeleon or Gravelers in play, and even then there's countless of other ways you can fucking delete her whole team, like using items in battle.
They were never "hardcore". The only "hardcore" anything was Battle Frontier, and that was less "hardcore" and more "literally cheating against you".
