I think Tomiyasu's problem is that he is too idealistic and unaware off the shallow mindset of his audience like Hidaka.

I have no interest in something that will never happen in a kids anime like Pokemon, I have doujin to do that. There would be any if the anime didn't push it so hard. Plus Ash is not ending up with anybody anyway so having an older girl as a love interest would not hurt. It would be funnier to see the reaction of Ash's other love interest whenever she proves herself as Ash's ideal woman.

Imagine if Ash had a crush on Lana's mom and consistently compare other girl with her.

Serena doesn't really contribute anything in the series, everything her ship can do are "Sexual" and Pokemon being a kids anime means it meant to have even less fanservice than other Non-H anime. Furthermore kids doesn't develop interest on anything sexual while older people like me gets more excited in Ash having affair with a stacked version of Lana's mom than he doing anything with all the lead girl.
