Yugioh is just unique in that is has no rotation like 90% of other cardgames. So they HAVE to make them stronger and stronger so people have a reason to buy new packs to beat the already absurdly strong thing thats meta.
There is not a single tcg that doesn't succumb to power creep over time. Yugioh just took massive leaps everytime they introduced a new gimmick. Synchros were still only slightly better than fusions, but then Pendulums, XYZ and Links were all massively better than the previous version.
The only time i have fun with modern YGO was when i slap down my 3500Atk Dinosaur Beatstick to win.
Still think YGO has way better looking cards than Pokemon tho.
