Battle passes are just tracks for rewards for playing. Premium is not worth it if you dont play too often.
As for expanded/legacy, legacy is dead and expanded is truncated to as far back as lost thunder currently, probably because more card effects = more bug testing = more work as they're split between the two clients currently.

The Pokémon TCG Live game client will be updated on February 28th. The game will be offline starting at 8 AM PDT and is estimated to be down for 8 hours. Please see below for the list of changes:

Notes

The following cards have been unbanned:

· Hisuian Zoroark (LOR #76)

· Galarian Slowking V (CRE #99, CRE #178, CRE #179)

Highlights

· On the desktop client, added an option to toggle off game board background effects.

· On the desktop client, updated game board animations and sound effects.

· Updated some gameplay visual effects in matches.

Cards

· Aether Paradise Conservation Area (GRI #116): Fixed an issue where the effect incorrectly applied to Evolution Pokémon.

· Talonflame (CIN #29): Fixed an issue where the Fast Flight attack did not draw cards from the deck if the player had no cards to discard.

· Tool Jammer (BST #136): Fixed an issue where removing this card did not immediately restore the effect of other Pokémon Tools in play.

· Brock's Grit (TEU #135): Fixed an issue where the text in the selection prompt did not match the full effect of the card.

Gameplay/Battle

· Fixed an issue where audio was missing for game board effects.

· Fixed an issue where the Poisoned graphical effects could temporarily cover the screen.

· Fixed an issue where the Status Effects window occasionally could not be opened when a Special Condition was applied on the Pokémon.

· Fixed an issue where a gold star was used in the match review screen when defeated.

· Fixed an issue where Special Energy status effect indicators did not immediately update when other effects that suppressed them entered or left play.

Shop

· Fixed an issue where the thumbnail for currency being acquired in the store did not show the amount being acquired.

General

· Various other fixes and polish.

I was really excited for Classics until we got more details. I thought it'd be like a premium re-release of all the Gen 1 eras. Like this fucking $300 mat had three theme decks but there'd be boosters of say Base/Jungle/Fossil under a new non-legal banner, they could even have different card backs. A way to keep the "original" game alive. But already the theme decks have fucking EXs? I have nothing against the G3 TCG era I loved it but it clashes with the original cards and the way the game used to play. I don't see the point. I still plan on buying it if the playmat is sturdy.
I mean they could've milked it "play the original game" but I guess the Game Boy release of TCG is the best I'll get to recreate that era. It's not even nostalgia fagging, The game was just simpler which makes it fun. I do like the gimmicks we've gotten over the years for the most part, it keeps things fresh but I do wish I could play the game in certain eras. Like say The EX era again, but not this hybrid BS.

They could have even did it like WoW Classic and just re-released base and then another set every 2 months or something. If they were competent they could have made a different online client just for Tcg Classic tm, and marketed it alongside the regular tcg.
I mean Yugioh manages to have Master Duel and Duel Links as well as regular and GOAT format for classic chads, so i doubt a classic format would kill off Pokemon standard/extended.

It's not AS bad, but it's just "as" bad.

They could literally cash in on Genwunners (hello, me) and nostalgia for the barrier-Mewtwo era cards, but instead they're: 1) theme decks and a playmat and 2) adding non-Gen1/old base set cards to the collection.

So, yes, in my opinion it's just as bad as the Magic collection. Like Wizards, TPC doesn't understand their target market for this.

I don't know what that means. It's either better, just as bad, or worse. Remember that better is not necessarily the same as good.

I do agree with you, however. This could have been more fit for purpose. Something like a base set version of Magic's collectors edition from back in the day would have been great. Even three real competitive decks from the early era would be preferable.

Of course, then they couldn't include the HECKIN' BASE SET CHARINO!!! An essential component of any TCG nostalgia product.

Perhaps I have just been abused by WotC too much over the years, but in spite of its flaws, I still like it. I did end up entering the lottery.

I think you get your 600 crystals back if you get to rank 50, but yea you get more than you could ever get from 3 boosters at Rank 0.
And last Battle pass actually had a lot of boosters in the Premium Track, this one is just mostly clothes and coins i guess.

Yeah, I was going to say, I don't think you make the BP cost back even if you pay the "skip 15 levels" for F2P.

Is it worth it? Well, depends on how much you play and if you can make the 50 in time (starting now? I don't think you can, a few weeks ago? Maybe if you do your dailies and are able to hit a level per day).

It's not TOO bad, but I do think the F2P track should at least let you "go infinite" if you grind enough if you're going to pay for it.

While you're not being charged $1,000 for this (thank god, that's insanity), like Wizards: You could've had a slam-dunk product (base-set/Alphas) that weren't tournament legal (at least TPC came out of the gate to state that) and had a "complete collection" product for nostalgia-collectors/players, you're still being charged more than what the "collection" (IMO) should cost because of what you're getting (6 RNG boosters that may/may not give you a [proxy] Black Lotus in M:tG case, here not the full base set).

As soon as I saw that it wasn't a 1:1 base-set collection, I lost all interest in this product, double-so since it is only the "Kanto starters" theme-deck. While it's nice they're giving a "board game" and the tokens seem nice/cool, I just... don't see who this product is for.

You were talking about the Premium pass, which costs 600 crystals and is literally always worth it. Please tell me what else you could buy for 600 crystals that gives you 1500 Credits and 60 cards. And thats the minimum if you literally only redeem the pass and then never play again for the rest of the season.

On the other hand, the "skip 15 levels" thing is pretty much always worthless. You can easily get to 50 if you start early enough. Last season i got to 47 when i started with 4 weeks left. The most important thing would be rank 25 anyway for the other set of decks.

I remember this card as a kid and how no one didn't know what the heck it does, so everybody started making up stuff whenever they play it from hand.

I also remember kids everywhere worshiping the Mewtwo Movie card as if it was the best card ever made like how they thought Mewtwo was the strongest Pokemon ever.

Take trainer cards out of the deck until the searches work. Then, put 1 trainer in, go in a match and use it - it should work now. Repeat for every card you want to use. Boring but it worked every time i tried it

Try to have Path to the Peak up and a way out of it at the end of your turn.

congrats dude, you have realised that its not a flowchart. Mew is broken as hell theres a reason its meta.
The fact is still that Mew can't even attack without Genesect, it can't draw cards without Genesect. Pull it in the active spot and he very likely can't even retreat or attack with him.
If you have Drapion or can oneshot the Vmax in other ways, then yes, go for it. If he only has one Mew V/max out and you can kill it, then yes go for it, they need 2 Mews to be able to attack efficiently anyway.
Something like Avery can also help since he gets rid of half his bench before you kill one more, and they can still run only 4 Genesect/Mews. And most Mews have no way to recover things from the discard pile.

There are actually very few fusion strike cards that aren't hot garbage. Genesect has a good ability + highest damage attack out of all of them.
Mew has 0 cost retreat, that what makes it so good paired with it.
The cooldown should still apply unless i'm completely wrong here, i don't really use Mew much.

If you have problems with a deck you should honestly try playing it yourself for a bit, at least against the shitty AI in the deck builder if you don't wanna craft it.

This guy gets it. Mew is certainly OP when it works, but when one thing doesn't go your way, it's basically over. Everything has to go your way because of it doesn't it's hard to Pivot. Meoletta is the only different thing you can pull, but she only has 90 HP. I can tell from the second turn whether I'm going to win or get btfod using mew. It really is up to the heart of the cards.

A lot of Mews don't even run Meloetta anymore since the double colorless version is just more consistent than the fusion strike energy one. But you can usually easily see what variation they are running in the first 2 turns.

oh, double colorless is more consistent simply because you only have to add 1 Energy to Mew instead of 2 to attack. Which means energy removal doesn't completely prevent you from playing, but in turn you get no Meloetta and stray Miltanks will brick you again. There are some decks tho that run both double colorless AND fusion strike so in the end do what you want really.

The timer issue comes and goes. I got hit with it during the Astral Radiance launch for about a week then and again recently.
I don't know how many players are affected by the current issue. My last 3 opponents on the casual ladder all conceded because they got timed out on their turn.

Games that last 3+ turns in competitive ygo are considered very slow.

It would probably still be played since its a slightly better lava golem, but what do i know. I think most decks can do 8k damage by turn 2 a this point.

Funny enough, I was talking to my friend about this the other night. This is actually why I HATE Yugioh now. Yugioh has become convoluted as fuck to the point that it's nothing but a bunch of combo bullshit to get 1 fucking link/XYZ/fusion out that it's not even fun anymore. I watched my friend summon, special summon, special summon, sac, overlay, destroy, remove, get something from the deck, link summon, ditch a card, play a spell, play another monster, then finally end his turn. These games have gotten so fucking lame at this point I don't even know why I even try to play them.

Look at Poker. People STILL play it to this day and it's over 1k years old why? Because it's not overly complicated. Yugioh was meant for children and now it's too overly complicated for kids to play. Pokemon can be learned in like an hour and have the general idea of "what does this Pokemon do? Oh? Ok, I can add energy and take away energy to do things and stuff." At least it has a simple concept.

Yugioh is just unique in that is has no rotation like 90% of other cardgames. So they HAVE to make them stronger and stronger so people have a reason to buy new packs to beat the already absurdly strong thing thats meta.

There is not a single tcg that doesn't succumb to power creep over time. Yugioh just took massive leaps everytime they introduced a new gimmick. Synchros were still only slightly better than fusions, but then Pendulums, XYZ and Links were all massively better than the previous version.
The only time i have fun with modern YGO was when i slap down my 3500Atk Dinosaur Beatstick to win.

Still think YGO has way better looking cards than Pokemon tho.

Yeah I can see that. I have a hero and Dark Magician deck, sometimes I feel like my heroes can be a tad much. I love them regardless. (e-heroes).

With better cards i meant more the cool monsters and less the generic anime they do nowadays, altough dragonmaids aren't bad. Danger Tsuchinoko is still my favourite looking card in any cardgame.

Do you get crystals from packs? I thought you only got credits if you have the 4 max copies. But I think the same thing applies right, just find the cheapest codes and max out the 400 to get as many credits as possible. Would any code work, or is only the expansions that are currently supported.
Like I see that Crimson Invasion is pretty cheap, but that's not on the list of expansions on Live.

Unless you are a whale, buying Celebrations just isn't worth it. You get 75 Celebrations (if they are available) for the same price as 400 of whatever is on sale.
Right now its Chilling Reign for 0,11€ versus Celebrations for 0.59€ per. Plus you may even get cards you need for your deck and not JUST credits.
