>>35072008The game is self-explanatory enough. That's the keyword here: Enough. The main gameplay is catching Pokemon and spinning Pokestops. The gyms were reworked less than a year ago, so odds are they weren't (or still aren't) satisfied with how gyms work. Even a retard like me, who started way back in September of 2016, figured out how gyms worked pretty quickly. And if you're actually seriously invested in the game, like all hobbies, you'll start doing your own research on the internet. Raids also have their own "Help" blurb in the corner when viewing them.
I, too, think they should have some sort of "Trainer's Handbook" in-game to get newbies acquainted with all the features (few as they are at the moment), but as it is there's no incentive to. It doesn't make them money, and even the dumbest casual can figure out how to play within minutes.
A fucking type chart so grandma doesn't keep using Meganium against Rayquaza would be nice though.
