The first years were chaotic, but fun. Board State was very much 50/50 in terms of quality OC and awful shitposting like the GOT YER FEETS spam and constant porn and fetish spam, also the cringy stuff like Emo Pineco's loveably awful karaokes and Bui's despicable self. Things got better by 2013 with the dawn of the first 3D Pokemon game and the hype of the announcements along with all the speculation on Megas and the fairy type. Overall, the X/Y era (2013 - 2014) still remains the absolute best years of /vp/ with loads of OC, speculation, hype, and people actually playing the games. It was so nice that not even the biggest fucking autist to ever grace this board (G00drafag) could ruin it. Ironically, despite being one of my most requested games, the Hoenn remakes are probably the moment when /vp/ started to go down the shitter. The Battle Frontier fiasco was such a slap in the face that it left us unsalvageably cynical and demoralized, so the overall board culture took a blow and never recovered fully. These past 4 years have made me question why i keep coming here, really.
