If they spread the love out to other Gens, it wouldn't be so bad but it's not out of love or reverence for Kanto: rather, it's an empty marketing ploy to try to get people who long stopped caring back in at the expense of the current and new base. It's a shallow attempt to get people around the effect of pic related by leaning more into old content than celebrating the new. And the worst part is that now that GO and X/Y showed it works, it's never going to stop outside of remakes.
