I'm actually not entirely sure, but I think the Gulpin line may be based off of a literal stomach or gallbladder. If Plusle and Minun found their stardom in the first Pokemon Ranger game, then perhaps Gulpin's evolution Swalot can find its claim to fame in the gen 4 Wi-Fi plaza mini game... I guess? Seriously, if you've actually used this guy in-game I salute you and you're an absolute baller and a king. Anyway, it's actually fairly decent in my opinion. It gets Yawn (very early) and Toxic both in its level up movepool. Gulpin evolves into Swalot at level 26 while learning Body Slam which can paralyze. Additionally it learns Stockpile at level 40 and Sludge Bomb at level 48. With decent enough stats and access to versatile moves such as Ice Beam (TM) and Thunder Punch (Tutor), it can actually be of good use to you on your team.
