Gen V story gets shit because the "cutscenes" were not only more frequent but typically way less meaningful and interesting, like when Alder first shows up out of nowhere by hopping down a cliff. Like, who is this fag and why should I care.
But the absolute worst sin is when the plot actually undermines itself again and again. N is supposed to be Jesus yet he uses Pokeballs and keeps Pokemon himself, turning out to be a hypocrite. Ghetsis baits players into thinking that he actually has a point and that BW's moral quandry is real, but it turns out he's completely bullshitting and just wants to take over the world---he's supposed to be a genius, yet he doesn't even keep up the charade as long as he possibly can, just dropping it out of nowhere.
You never see a single important person ever be convinced by Team Plasma and give up their Pokemon, but the game sure as hell makes sure to go into the credits with a close-up face shot of N, the hypocrite who ultimately made absolutely zero difference to the story except interrupting your adventure several times to lecture you about shit you may not even care about, including cucking you out of your Champion battle.
And the game forces you to both catch the box legendary as well as use it in battle, forcibly ejecting one of your bros---and the battle theme for it is garbage compared to the two previous gens.
In the end, the "main" conflict didn't matter at all.
Black/White was total fucking bullshit and on a whole 'nother level than Hoenn and Sinnoh.
