At worst, you'd only get skinwalker greens if you show up somewhere that doesn't have native illusion Pokemon, and they'd get laughed at by folks who do live near them.

It'd be cool if the Pokemon world was a bit closer to how Temeraire's setting treats dragons - some nations with reverence, some treat them as tools, and others equals (or near-equals).
