>>48679185I like the PvP. Haven't found another game besides maybe Chess that scratches the same itch. Turn based mind games are so CASH. Trading card games come close but I hate wasting money on amassing a collection of junk. I already feel weird about having so many game carts.
... and, if I'm being real here, I like Pokémon because I have nothing else. I'm 34. Lost my job. Lost my 15 year relationship (gf turned into a dude). Lost most of my belongings in a fire. Mountain of student loan debt with nothing to show for it besides the ability to write in English. I have permanent brain fog from covid. Moved back in with the parents too. My life sucks. Pokémon reminds me of the good times.
Millennials have nothing else but nostalgia to look forward to. The future will bring pain. The planet is dying. There is no hope, only temporary escape through whatever fairy tale you choose to believe in. I believe in Pokémon. I find happiness in yesterday.
