Again, I don't specifically emulate PEN or any particular 'grotesque' art style or artist (even if I favor it more than more simple ones), but my current lineart weights kind of don't allow me to overdetail things too much anyway (and shouldn't. All things in a body should somewhat match in detail/quality). Sometimes I do glossy, sometimes I paint like picrel, so it just changes up depending on mood.
Regarding KY, detail isn't necessarily bad, but in this case it definitely contributes to a more plush-like style and the gradient shading makes a weird disconnect in limbs (but again artists should do whatever they feel like desu)
People don't generally like constructive criticism if they draw for fun and don't care for improving (so ask first, it's wasted effort otherwise). As long as you can pinpoint something specific it can be useful (it's very frustrating if people say your art sucks but they never tell you exactly why). I'll listen and consider things if people don't act like I owe them my liver.
