>>34280740>ULTRA SPACEBasically Soaring but it doesn't span an entire region. Only upside is increased shiny rate, UBs being infinite means nothing, did people applaud when Zorua was made a wild mon?
>FESTIVAL PLAZA AGAINIT'S SUPPOSED TO BE THE FUCKING PSS REPLACEMENT
>ISLAND TRIALSThey make no difference whatsoever, they mostly consist of "do [simple task], battle Pokémon" three times until you fight the Totem. While Totem battles are neat, the trials themselves are not. Despite their names, you do much less in a trial than you would a gym. Nothing about trials feels fresh and they're more a nuisance if anything.
>Z MOVESHow can we implement even MORE cutscenes into this video game?
I don't actually dislike the idea behind Z-moves, but it being such a heavily advertised feature makes it seem like a genuine replacement to megas, which is fucking awful.
>ALOLAYou're basically handheld the entire way through the region, the only place you might miss on a normal playthrough is that one cove on Melemele. A pretty sad excuse for a region, and I've wanted a Hawaii region since I was a child. I can count the number of interesting locations on one hand. This is the biggest disappointment for me, seeing as I could at least have fun traversing Alola even if everything else is shit.
Oh, and USM doesn't expand on it either, aside from one spot for Mantine Surfing.
Even if Alola was a good region it'd be difficult to appreciate considering you're stopped to do shit every 5 steps you take. If this were any other JRPG you'd be able to skip this shit with the start button, but nope. This also kills any sort of replayability the games could have, not like anyone would want to, though.
Alola, despite appearances, is not a place of adventure. Not yours, anyway. Instead you're an escort for the true main character: Lillie. This makes the main game completely unengaging, seeing as it isn't your conflict in the first place.
To be continued.
