What if the "original" Ash was a scientist long ago and wanted to collect information about each pokemon so he CLONES himself. AND not just one clone, but a clone to each continent. ( ONE IN GEN 1, ONE IN GEN 2, ETC.) HE would do this with the help of the professors and ash's mom.

He could be an android. After he lost the indingo lead he committed suicide and the professor built this android because he felt at fault and wants to make it up for his mom. He would do this with bill's help.
