Not only could they do some serious damage trying to fight their way out, but even if your snake does finish them off first, any natural poisons work twofold against a Grass-type. And again, it's less nutritious than the cooked versions.
So yes, it's possible if you run out of food while camping or something, but it's best to keep your pokemon on a more controlled diet. There's a reason they live so much longer in captivity, after all
