Does anyone here hate the new map? Only one berry on top insinuates that Timi wanted to copy LoL and have a 1-1-3 split, but with offensive power creep this game just isn’t really suited for it.
The objectives are all more or less equally valuable, although I’d say regileki is slightly better after the second spawn and on, but with there being two relatively useful objectives, I’m finding even in ultra rank that teammates (randoms in solo queue) are so divided on which to prioritize that it often leads to two mini 2v3 or 3v2s as even the enemies rarely all group up for objectives anymore.
Despite there being slightly more XP on the map there’s something about the layout and distribution of it that I’m noticing snowballing is actually worse than on Remoat stadium.
Finally, the way rayquaza works actively encourages people not to come to the final fight 1/3 of the time and instead backcap, because even if you win, there’s no guarantee you get the points in. The shields are only viable if you don’t get attacked at all heading to the enemy goals, and that’s usually not the case since both your team and the enemy team are rarely showing up for a 5v5 at rayquaza anyway, so that even if you win rayquaza, there’s still 1-2 enemies who were backcapping or respawning who can take your ray shields and stop your scoring. The only way to fix this would be to make ray shields even stronger, and then people would just complain that it’s unstoppable...functionally making it the same as zapdos, which everyone bitched about (even though it strongly incentivized a final full-team fight)
So overall, the map encourages bad/risky/questionable plays, spreads the team out too thin, and doesn’t distribute healing (berries) and XP adequately, and that’s on top of not being able to scroll to see objective health anymore and slower home base healing.
