I don't care about Ash in this series. He's changed in zero ways, he's gone through almost no important personal experiences in like.. 12 years, we already know he won't give a shit if he wins because winning the Alola league had 0 impact on him. The only people who care about this are fanboys who want to brag about "who Ash Ketchum can beat" but as someone who actually likes the kid, I wish he had something of substance to do in this series other than being a boring BATTORU bot. I'm not asking for Shakespeare here, I just want to see some level of personal investment from him, he feels truly soulless and has felt truly soulless since DP.
Goh episodes are way better and that's not a matter of opinion.
