4Kids should've really stuck to *kid* shows, they were actually better at handling Pokemon than TPCi has been for the last several years now (I never though I'd even somewhat miss Stuart's Hoenn-era James, but here we are, Cathcart is just that godawful at the role now-- though he was arguably worse halfway into Sinnoh than even Stuart's worst but XY onward has been DREADFUL). I think they started going downhill around Sonic X, and then we all know the infamous One Piece dub that more or less killed them off for good (all of the companies' worst practices in one bed).
TPCi just doesn't give a fuck about the Pokemon Anime beyond the shekels, and it shows, TAJ was bad. DuArt was worse. The current company uses CA based talent, but makes them sound bad too and Goldfarb is pretty much getting ready to make the dub full dub music based on the trajectory downward, it's just...ugh.
